About Aero Precision AR-15/AR-10 Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube - APRH101227C
Buffer tubes serve a vital function in the AR15 recoil management system, but why can’t they be more? Aero Precision took a whole new approach when designing our Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube by including features like carrier support extensions, position guide drain holes and ramping the design of the tube. These features add reliability, security, and simplicity that traditional mil-spec buffer tube options historically overlook. Features: Carrier Support Extensions – Fully supports and guides the bolt carrier group into the buffer tube after a round is fired, preventing carrier tilt and unnecessary wear on key components. The Carrier Support Extensions also extend on either side of the buffer retaining pin, securing the pin in place while simultaneously preventing the buffer tube from backing out under recoil. Position Guide Drain Holes – Each position guide features a drainage hole that removes water from the system in marine environments. During routine operation, smoother cycling is achieved by allowing additional air to escape during the compression cycle of the rifle. Ramped Tube Design – Allows for effortless installation of traditional carbine stocks. We have removed the need for messing around with screwdrivers to get your furniture over the end of the buffer tube. Simply hold down the adjustment piece and push your stock onto the Enhanced Buffer Tube. Proper Thread Depth – Traditional buffer tubes feature extended unused threads that can cause your stock to become trapped when fully collapsed. While some turn these threads down, we’ve correctly machined the threads to the proper depth, providing a much cleaner look. Mil-spec Dimensions – Machined from a 7075-T6 Aluminum Impact Extrusion to mil-spec dimensions. All standard carbine stock options made to work with mil-spec buffer tube dimensions are compatible with our Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube.

Since recently purchasing this buffer tube I’ve purchased 2 more to replace other tubes, it’s that good. No wobble from the stock, snug fit. Internally dry coated to assist with spring contraction. Quality finish.

This is IMO the nicest receiver extension on the market. Meaningful features and near flawless fit/finish make this the gold standard. Outstanding product! I have purchased many installing on Aero, along with other manufacturers lower receivers and have encountered no issues. I really like the way it secures the spring detent in place it also works well with the silent capture buffer (pictured). The AP buffer will be my choice on all builds.

One of the best receiver extensions on the market. Best grade of aluminum. Drain holes. Carrier support. The ramped leading edge for easing stock installation is a plus. Most of these specifications can only be found on the likes of LWRC or POF but only Aero offers them all with one extension. The best value for money for a upgrade or a build.

This buffer tube is great for a carbine length buffer tube. Unfortunately Aero Precision doesn't sell this same buffer tube in a 7.75" or 8" configuration. I would definitely advise against this buffer tube because the longer buffer tubes with rifle length spring do a much better job..... I would advise not getting a carbine buffer tube and get the 308/AR-10 buffer tube instead.… read more I believe there are options from POF, PWS, V7, and 2A Armament.

I originally purchased an complete AP buffer tube kit, and installed it to my AR10. (Aero upper and lower) I then bought the AP enhanced tube, because I like the feature where it captures the pin and the lip extends out a bit into the receiver. Well, I struggled for almost an hour trying to thread the original castle tube nut onto the buffer tube. Everything I could do, it would… read more not thread enough to allow installation. It was a hair fat, threads were rough, and it also was out of round a bit. For an upgrade tube, I wouldn't choose the Aero. I'm going back to the PWS enhanced kit, which I have on 2 other AR's. I want to return this poor product. I'm An Aero fan, and now I'll be doing a double take on their products.
