Armaspec Sound Mitigation Buffer Review

Excellent. Once you install these buffers, and tune your AR with an adjustable gas block to use the minimum amount of gas to cycle, you will, overtime replace the open spring style on all of your AR's. They are that nice. You will not hear and the spring rubbing on the tube, and instantly feel the crisp cycle of your AR. I have these in every AR that I own.

Doesn’t even let me charge it back do to the end p

This doesn’t even work with my 9mm bolt carrier group it’s literally won’t charge back because it’s literally solid steel I’m not impressed trying to get my money back don’t waste your time if ur getting it for a AR9

Less is more

After 100 rounds and broken in, and two cleanings I can say I love not having the rattle and grinding in my ear as well as the additional unbalanced weight in the buffer tube. I used a little clp in the spring and shaft to quiet it down even more. The only drawback for me has been when I remove the upper and have to hold back the buffer a little but it’s not that big of a dealbreaker… read more for me.

Best option for buffer in your AR10 build

If building a AR10 I suggest going with one of these instead of a regular AR10 buffer. Cost is about the same as buffer when on sale

Sounds Good

I'm still purchasing parts for my AR build, but I've recently used this on a friend's AR and it def help keep that thwang sound to a minimum or none. Good build quality, feels like it'll hold up for a while, looking forward to using it more once mine is completed. Def recommend.

Not sure how this is supposed to work

I bought this for my ar9 and after reading about it I asked customer service, who responded right away, if I had to remove the weight off the back of the bcg and they said yes. After removal their is a big gap between the bcg and buffer causing the bcg to slide around. I took out the buffer retainer but their is no way this will work because it leaves a massive amount of back space… read more for the bcg and you can't take the gun apart to clean it. Very poor design, any stars you see is because Victor and the customer service team is awesome

Sound Mitigation Buffer works as expected

It’s a well designed sound reduction device. It you suppress your weapon, often times the only sound you’ll hear is the action working. While you’ll still have most of that noise, the echo and squeal of the buffer spring rubbing against the buffer tube is effectively removed. I would recommend this upgrade.

Works better than expected!

Quality materials, easy install. The little flag on the end of the spring guide is a very nice touch! Spring noise is gone as advertised. I got the H2 and it smoothes out my 10.5" pistol so well. The buffer has a rubber pad on it that extends past the receiver extension when the upper is removed, and it has to be pressed back in for the upper to close. No big deal. Have 2 of Armaspec Sound Mitigation Buffer h3 and the 9mm... only a small issue

the rubber ring goes past my buffer retaining pin and makes it hard to open and service the rifle. it works great but I have the Armaspec Stealth Recoil Spring (Armaspec SRS) and it works better and great performance spend the 30 dollars more

Love this product

Armaspec did a great job with this. Even better is the pricepoint. You can pay top dollar for a recognized traditional buffer and spring, or get a better silent system for less. I’ve bought 2, one for my 5.56 and 9mm AR. Will buy for every build.

Fantastic!

Bought one for my AR15 and what a difference. Smoother cycling, no twang, and no spring/buffer riding the inside of my tube. Liked it so much bought a second for my ar9.

Cool design but flawed

This is an interesting replacement for a traditional buffer and spring but it has a flaw. The rubber piece when used with a retainer spring rides too hard against the retainer and makes separating the upper and lower difficult to the point where I had to wrench it open and when I did so the rubber o-ring popped off.
