GPT (Gas tube Pin Tool) is a jig tailor made for installing and removing the gas tube roll pin on an AR15/M16 low profile gas block. Machined in 6061 aluminum and Type III hard coat anodized, GPT makes installing the gas tube pin on a low profile gas block painless. GPT is designed to be stable and surefooted, but it is no larger than it has to be, in order to retain a reasonable small footprint on the crowded workbench. Most low profile gas blocks don’t have flats, and are hard to hold steady without requiring 3 hands to install the diminutive gas tube roll pin. GPT enables the user to install the gas tube roll pin, and remove it as well with ease. We made its base thick and wide for stability, its base is rebated to allow the user to clamp it down in a vise. Thoughtful touches can be found on the GPT, from the scalloped finger access recess to the soft, rounded corners and edges, even its green color has a purpose. Most gas blocks are black, we wanted GPT to be anything but, as we found it more difficult to work on a black gas block that sits in a black jig. GPT’s green color provides a pleasant contrast and makes the black gas block stand out. With a small Neodymium magnet placed on the gas block, it’s powerful enough to stand the gas tube roll pin can upright, perpendicular to the gas tube, above the gas tube pin. With one hand holding the gas block steady in the GPT, one can start tapping on the gas tube roll pin to get it started. GPT is a collaboration between Modern Armory and Forward Controls Design. Compatible with most gas blocks including Modern Armory, our GBF (Gas Block, Forward Controls), BCM, Rainier, VLTOR, Knight’s Armament, Badger Ordnance, Daniel Defense, SLR, or other low profile gas blocks based on the original Crane design. Please measure your low profile gas block dimensions, as some are longer than others. GPT is made for Crane Mk12 pattern low profile gas blocks, the length of which is 1″. GPT can be modified to accommodate longer gas blocks. MAX gas block length: 1.00 MAX gas block height: 1.35 Known incompatible low profile gas blocks: Aero, Luth AR, and DPMS, and adjustable gas blocks.

wish i found this sooner i did some sketchy stuff to make pins go in but it worked still pain. this thing made it 1000x easier doing gas blocks/tubes. just buy it and stop hating life

Not worth it. Won’t even hold the most common low profile .750 gas block. C’mon guys. You can do better. I do not recommend this tool unless you plan on taking die grinder to it to make things fit.

Fantastic product. Even when gasblocks are slight bigger than spec it still makes it easier to install the roll pin if you didn't have one. Highly recommend if you're building multiple Ar's with gasblocks.

I knew it might not work with Aero Precision gas blocks and it did not. It took quite a bit of Dremel work to make it fit. It did not fit Brownells either. A little disappointing. Not a universal tool. Could have been a little bigger to fit more blocks on the market.

So I bought this after reading about it on Forward Controls website and watching Chad from School of the American Rifle use his own in a short video. I can, in fact, say that it works as advertised. It simplifies a really annoying process. That said, the restrictions are SUPER tight. In fact, I would just stick to using the GPT block with gas blocks from the listed manufacturers.… read more I did try a few others that were supposedly within the GPT blocks limitations, but they didn't fit into the block.

Well I did see in reviews others said it doesn't fit all gas blocks, and it doesn't. Most of mine are .750. None of them fit flush inside tool, so like other reviews said, time to get out Dremel tool, great concept but fails in delivering a great idea.

I've tried it with numerous gas blocks, all .750 diameter block, should it matter, and with only about half of them did they actually appropriately fit inside the jig. I ended up using a Dremel tool to open up the cavity a little bit more, so now all blocks fit nice

Works well for many gas blocks. One improvement would be if they embedded a strong magnet to further hold the gas block in place.
