About Geissele Super 42 Braided Wire Rifle Buffer Spring - 04-308
The Super 42 Rifle Length Spring for the M-16/AR-15, brings you the performance and user experience improvement of the Super 42 spring for your rifle length buffer tube. This unique spring design uses three independent strands of wire, that acts as a harmonic damper and energy absorber by allowing the springs to flex separately from each other. This flex helps displace excess energy which decreases the chance of spring failure and assists with making your M-16/AR-15 rifle more reliable while diminishing the “twang” sound from the butt-stock. The Geissele M-16/AR-15 Super 42 Rifle Length Spring works with a standard rifle length buffer and buffer tube.

The Geissele buffer spring is the best out there and is worth the upgrade. I will be buying more for all the other AR's. I was skeptical at first thinking how much better can a spring be. Glad I tried the Geissele spring because I could feel the difference in the recoil and no twang sound.

This is a terrific reliability upgrade without breaking the bank! I have JP SCS and for the money, the Super 42 Rifle length spring in conjunction with an A5 Buffer tube is almost indistinguishable. You can't go wrong with this simple and easy upgrade. Also, you can definitely use carbine or Vltor buffers. Serious upgrade from the VLTOR spring that comes standard in the A5 kit. I'm running this spring with a VLTOR A5H2 buffer on a 13.7" midlength Centurion Arms barrel and it is smooooooooth
