The QD Blast Shield is constructed of 17-4PH stainless steel and is ideal for reducing the felt force of concussion in close quarters when used in conjunction with a muzzle device. This is a fantastic add on that will redirect muzzle blast forward, away from other team members and is especially effective on shorter barrels. The concussive force of muzzle blast in a CQB environment can go far beyond discomfort. It can be deafeningly loud, cause prolonged headaches and can be dangerously disorienting. The QD Blast Shield is specifically designed to minimize or eliminate the negative effects of muzzle blast. A quick detach mechanism included with the unit is compatible with the Griffin line of SDQD mounts including the Flash Comp, Muzzle Brake, Linear Comp, Compensating Flash Hider, and Tactical Compensator. It’s also compatible with many Mil-SPEC USGI A2 muzzle devices, however it should be noted that not all A2 style muzzle devices are made to Mil-SPEC USGI dimensions.
