Best application for a bad regulation.

By far the tightest tolerance for a break action. Separation needed for mag release is millimeters. Only issue I have is the lack of bolt catch. However, the intended operation of this product is in the closed bolt position, so I can't be too critical of the only issue I've seen.

it doesn't work for ar-10 (ar10b). very annoyed with the responses from juggernaut and i said i already had the ar-10b pattern. i cannot shave the follower since it's metal. only for them to say after, we didn't test it on that. i should've gone with the ar maglock.

Hellfire modify

I have an aero precision lower and upper. I had to emery cloth the take-down pin so it would return to close position.Easy to install (about 1/2 hr)except i had to remove pistol grip and detent pin twice. Once to install then again to emery cloth the pin. Works very nice, a little tricky because I am left handed.

Better than featureless

I installed this part in about 20 minutes. Easy to do. Does exactly as it states, breaks the lower and upper apart enough to release the magazine. Being in CA, we have the ridiculous laws that we are required to follow to make our guns complaint. This is by far the better route to go to make my AR a CA compliant rifle.

installation was easy after i examined the pin and looked at how the grooves were machined. once the pin is partly in, it will stop but you have to rotate the pin clockwise and then you can push the pin all the way through. finish with the spring and screw on button. i didnt use the bolt catch replacement because using the bolt catcher is part of my muscle memory and i dont want… read more to lose that. i use the juggernaut with the maglock gen 2 instead and works best for me

This was my 2nd kit and a buddy bought the same, so I installed both to convert a couple Cali ARs at the same time. Will buy again but still not 100% happy with any conversions obviously. But works as advertised. The great thing about the Hellfighter is the quickness and ease to change mags. My opinions of down sides, first and foremost is the inability to lock the bolt to the… read more rear ever again, on last round, or when running a bore snake, overall range safety, military muscle memory, etc. On my first kit it took some time to adjust the mag release bar that replaced the bolt catch, then I could not get used to having to ‘hold’ the bolt to the rear all the time. However in order to break the action to release the mag, the bolt has to be in the forward position otherwise you do not get enough separation to release the mag. Kit makes sense, just not for me. On these recent conversions I only kept the rear takedown pin part of the Hellfighter and used the AR Maglock to be able to hold the bolt to the rear as typically used. Action has to be broken for the Maglock to work anyways and is the perfect pairing compliment. Yes you do have the extra step of forwarding the bolt to change mags so it may not be as fast but has more usability in my opinion. Other downside to the Hellfighter is the size of the rear takedown pin push button partially blocks thumb access to the safety. I am swapping in a ambi safety to clear this issue. Last gripes, when you need to fully break action to remove the BCG or whatnot, care has to be taken when pulling the Hellfighter rear takedown due to the knotching of the pin and spring tension. The pin wants to tweak at an angle and I fear of having the tension pin pop out as it did on my assembly table a few times. Just control the movement and you are ok. Definitely not confident yet to just pull the pin without the extra attention. Unfortunately in order to do this you have to take off the left side threaded push button and return spring from the takedown pin. On the desert range i’ve had the spring fall off the table into the sand for a scary minute, and the internally separate threaded connector that attaches the button to the pin, unseated itself, so had to use some loctite. It’s is not all doom and gloom. I love the Hellfighter and will order again. It’s part of the best options for the limitations of my State. Just takes some getting used to and patience to relearn muscle memory with a lot of dry fires at home in a controlled environment. Changing mags is getting faster and faster with more practice.

Took this kit solely for the rest takedown pin

As a preface, I incorporated the Hogue Freedom Fighter (HFF) with the rear takedown pin from the this Juggernaut Hellfighter (JHF) kit. The rear takedown pin was the only reason I was interested in this kit. I already had a different solution for a fixed magazine, per CA penal code 30515(a)(1). I know there is a competitor (AR Maglock) that offers the same solution as the… read more JHF rear takedown pin, but for personal opinions against that company for their actions against other vendors for CA compliance parts, I was willing to forego the extra $20ish to avoid further support of that other company. Following the video from Juggernaut Tactical, the replacement was easy to do, with one personal observation: 1. When removing the standard/existing takedown pin, when backing off the buffer tube, be mindful of the buffer retainer from popping out. I nearly lost mine as it launched out. With all the tools ready (Castle nut spanner, vise block) this modification took less than 10 min to finish. I'm happy with the product, and thank AFD for carrying this product for sale of.

Great Kit ... But Beware!

This is a great kit! Well made and very high quality. However, it is designed for the typical (and most commonplace) AR lower where the rear take down pin is secured from the back of the lower. MY lower secures the take down pin from the bottom of the lower, so the kit WILL NOT WORK with my version. There should be some kind or warning or disclaimer that notifies a customer of this… read more issue. The GOOD news is that I contacted Juggernaut Tactical directly, and they DO make a pin for a 'bottom of the lower' configuration and are going to exchange the pin out of my kit for one that will work for my lower. Maybe going forward, your store can stock either both versions of the kit, or ask the customer what kind of lower they have and just include the correct pin.

Works as designed although the on line install video should be more detailed. The big issue with this kit is when you need to fully open the action to clean or take care of any other issue. The Detent Pin jumps out of the Rear Take Down Pin channel at which point it nearly falls out of the lower. MAYBE with a small flat tool you can depress the Pin back into the Lower and align… read more it back into the channel of the Pin. But I have no such tool not that it would necessarily work. In my case I had to back out the Castle Nut in order to release the spring tention on the Detent Pin and reset it back into the Take Down Pin channel. A major PIA. When going out to the range pack your tools, you have been warned!
