Right tool for the project

Excellent tool, must have if you are dimpling your gas system on your AR type rifle. Well made. Has a secondary stabilizing screw which holds the jig extra well for support. Some of the jigs do not have the secondary screw, so I highly recommend this product.

Very satisfied customer

Like some reviewers have mentioned, the drill holes are a little snug, but this is normal. I checked with Kaw Valley to be sure. Just let your drill bit resize the holes for you, no problem at all. Guide worked exactly as described, couldn't be happier with this product.

Dimpling jig.

Not bad. I would’ve given it 5 stars if it had come with instructions. I’m not a professional gunsmith but I can do whatever it takes to build a gun with proper instructions. I was able to watch a you tube video that explained the procedure and got my barrel properly dimpled for the gas block. Great product and good price.

Great Gas block Dimpling Jig

So very easy to use and well worth the money to always know your Gas Block is going to be 100% aligned every time you dimple your barrel. Highly recommend this for all you builders. This makes it so easy to do if your barrels do not come with a dimple. Even a average gun guy can do this.

Gas block jig

The set screws on gas blocks do not have standard spacing. I buy barrels without dimples. The jig allows you to drill the barrel to match the gas block set screw spacing. Best to use cobalt drill bit in a drill press. Barrels are extremely hard. Great product.

Barrel dimpling jig

Great. I haven't got to use it yet,but with the difference in barrels out there,I know I will soon. Better to have it when I need it.?? I have done quite a bit of machine work,so I'm sure I can figure out how to use it without instructions. Just get one of my barrels that are dimpled and mark that location on the jig. Presto

Great Dimple Jig

Needed this for two barrels that did not have a single dimple and were giving me issues with under gassing the bolt. This kit was amazing at giving me the dimples that matched my gas blocks (NBS .750). The guide was on point and super easy to drill with stability. If you need dimples, definitely pick up this jig. Very versatile and needed if you are building your own rifles

Dimple Your Barrel

Put at least one dimple on your barrel when you build (some gas blocks have a weird set screw spacing- so one is fine). This tool works great, and it's easy to use. Do your research on your preferred gas block's set screw spacing. There are plenty of "how to" videos to watch for proper use of you haven't done it before. Just don't go too deep and you'll be fine. Added tool to my toolbox

So I looked around and found this Gas Block Dimpling Jig to be the best multi manufacture Jig. It worked very well for dimpling 2 barrels so far. The use of a pinning jig in use with the jig make for a rock solid gas block install.

Research before you buy

I found out after ordering this that some gas blocks don't match the hole spacing on this particular jig. Mine is .485 for an Aero Precision block so I had to end up making my own block. If the spacing works it would be great for someone.

Used it for a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block on a DD barrel. Worked perfectly.

Works Great

While I have only used it on one barrel, the process was easy and you have a very secure gas block when you are done. The only potential drawback is that you need one of these for each size barrel size but for me not an issue as all my barrels are the same gas port size.

Well. I was lucky in not needing to dimple my new barrel since the barrel had been dimpled at the factory. I will keep the dimpling jig in case I buy a barrel later on and need it. I had received the dimpling jig before I received this barrel. It really is well made product.

Well made and very handy, it worked perfectly for my build. This will give you the added assurance that your gas block will be properly installed and will not move on you. Just be careful not to drill too deep.

This jig did the job I don't have to worry about my gas block moving or guessing if it's aligned the only thing you have to becareful with is find the right drill hole on the jig that align with the screw holes in the gas block. But it's a very easy to use tool.

You would think this would be a very simple application but with the lack of directions, it was only complicated further. Gunsmiths might recognize this tool and already know how to use it. For those who have never had training, the best we have is YouTube. It shouldn't have gotten that far. There is no reason why this simple tool should lack directions. Yes, I watched the YouTube… read more video but if it wasn't for one clip of that video by AP2020 Outdoors showing the number side down, I could have damaged my barrel. All is well and I'm still giving it 4/5 stars.

Kaw valley barrel dimpler

Overall works fine, you do need to be able to measure the center-to-center distance on your gas block in order to figure out which jig to use. This will probably require dial calipers. Although it's possible to freehand it's better to drill on press with vise.

Awesome jig to simple your barrel. It has 6 different set screw spacing for different gas blocks. Drill the dimple in the right spot every time. No guessing or trying to measure where to drill.
