I know that normally a buffer is just that, a buffer. However, it is nice to have a buffer that has a stronger shell than the rest out there as well as "my favorite feature" the completely round head. No 3 little flats that can on occasion allow the buffer to slip by the buffer stop on folding adapters. Simply put, these are great buffers that do the job and stay put. They are a… read more tad of a pain the install due to the full round but the pros far outweigh the con.

I haven’t completely finished my AR-10 build yet, but this looked like the best .308 buffer available for a carbine length tube. Combined with a special .308 spring, a good muzzle device, and an adjustable gas block, I think the recoil on this new build will be quite manageable. The stainless steel housing looks super durable, and shouldn’t get dented by the retainer pin like… read more the aluminum housings do. Seems to be well made , and good looking. When I open my AR10 people see that buffer and ask about it. I have several Kaw Valley components on various builds , and never had an issue with any of them.
