Kaw Valley Precision AR-15 Trigger Reduced Power Spring Kit - KVP-RPTK Review

Kaw Valley Precision AR-15 Trigger Reduced Power Spring Kit - KVP-RPTK

Kaw Valley Precision AR-15 Trigger Reduced Power Spring Kit - KVP-RPTK

Brand New

About Kaw Valley Precision AR-15 Trigger Reduced Power Spring Kit - KVP-RPTK

Mil-spec AR-15 triggers typically have an 8 to 9 pound trigger pull with factory springs. Utilizing the KVP Reduced Power Spring Kit should achieve a trigger pull reduction of 2 to 4 pounds. A 5 to 6 pound trigger pull is typical after installation of the KVP Reduced Power Spring Kit. The KVP reduced power springs are designed to reduce trigger pull weight in Single Stage triggers. Due to the magnitude of triggers on the market, KVP can not guarantee that ALL triggers will adequately detonate ALL cartridges. We recommend high quality brass cased ammunition loaded with commercial primers for the best results. Installation should be performed or overseen by a competent gunsmith.

I've used about 10 sets of these springs. Consistently getting 4.0 to 4.5 lb trigger pull. Great stuff!!!

I used these springs on a AR-STONER Enhanced Trigger Group and it went from a 4.5lbs to 1lb 14oz trigger pull! It feels so nice I can't believe I only paid a little over $4 for these on sale. I'll be installing these in all my AR's.

Enhanced springs are awesome

These springs are totally worth it. Lightens trigger pull and eliminates trigger creep. I have used these and the dirty bird ones in every AR build without drop in trigger. Ar15discounts.com has them at the lowest price around also. Highly recommended attached photos are all of the standard ones that I've removed to install these

Reliable Reduced Power AR Spring Kit

The Kaw Valley Precision AR15 reduced power spring kit is great. This was the 3rd spring kit I've installed and they all work great. Lightened the trigger pull weight and function 100%. Installed this in a .22lr AR build that functioned great with everything except .22 Auto Match - even though it's high velocity and says "perfect for semi-autos", it was failing to cock the hammer read more nearly half the time. The reduced power spring kit did the trick and the failure to cock the hammer cleared up. The trigger pull is much better as well.

Installed the three sets of springs I purchased in three different firearms and using a trigger pull scale tool, there was little change in 2 of the rifles and one rifle that has polished trigger and hammer with 6 pounds the reduction was 1.5 pounds and now measures 4.5-5 pounds.

Love these trigger/hammer springs, just enough to reduce trigger weight but not enough to "trigger" light primer strikes.

This is a super cheap and easy upgrade over any standard mil spec trigger. Have put these springs on over a dozen ar's and makes a huge difference. Used it with 9mm, 7.62x39, 223 and 224 valk. Good 2 go, no regrets. Blue color makes it easy to identify if you have a bunch of lowers laying around and can't remember what springs are in what lower.

With a video and these springs, I now have a competition trigger for $7.00

I purchased this kit a year ago (5/28/20) and had a friend install it for me. In reading the reviews prior to buying it, I found one written by Chris W. who suggested watching a Youtube video called "Paracord AR-15 Trigger Job" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yeasg5HNbnw) that shows an easy way to wear in the bearing surfaces for a crisper trigger pull. Prior to the installation read more of the springs, the trigger pull on my ATI Omni Maxx 10.5" pistol was about 6 lbs. The pull after the installation of the springs measured 4.5 lbs. on my friend's Lyman gauge. When I got home, I followed the paracord trigger job procedure and took it to the range to try it out. It felt much lighter and broke cleaner but I forgot to measure the pull weight. Today, after a year, I finally decided to write a review and I took my pistol to a gun store to get the pull measured. After six pulls, the average on the Lyman gauge came to 2.7 lbs. which is great if I planned on using my pistol for competition shooting. For HD scenarios, however, it's a tad too light. not that I'm complaining, mind you, since my rapid fire is pretty awesome right now. Needless to say, this was the best $7 that I ever spent. Thank you, AR-15 Discounts!

I went from Mil standard CMMG 7lbs to the Kaw Valley and using 1000 grit wet paper to 3.5lbs measured on a wheeler scale. I lightly polished and buffed the mating surfaces and Holy Crap it’s perfect on my SPR..!! I was going to go with the JP but I don’t see how you can get any better with JP. I know they are both the same spring steel I believe so why not Kaw Valley and save read more a few bucks. I’m going to get another set soon for another project and I highly recommend these. I’ve been shooting the AR platform for 3 decades and cut my teeth on an M16-A2 and I’ve never felt a trigger like this on an AR type rifle. Semper Fidelis

Used with an Anderson stainless steel hammer and trigger, you will end up with a very nice reliable trigger!

Worth every penny!

Thomas

This is part of my first build and I've read comments that the mil spec spring that comes with the lower parts kit was on the heavy side so I spent the extra couple bucks on this trigger spring set to make the trigger lighter. Having never built an AR before I wanted to see the difference with the lower parts kit springs and this set. There is a night and day difference in the springs read more and I am so glad I paid for this set as it is lighter and way more comfortable to pull. Worth the extra $.

Nice upgrade springs!

Nice replacement springs. Feels like the poor mans milspec trigger mod: Buff the trigger and hammer bits. Bend and clip a leg off the hammer spring. Nice 3 lb clean pull. Same or better result with none of the guesswork!

I should have listened to the other reviews but I figured since these where on sale for only a few bucks I gave them a try. Anyways same thing happened to me like the other reviews said happened to them. After my 3rd shot nothing but light primer strikes over and over. I had to give up and stop shooing cause I was just getting annoyed and wasting ammo at that point. I realy wanted read more these to work. My trigger pull weight was prob cut in half.

Great results!

This spring kit and one of the nickle/teflon g.i. style triggers is a perfect combination. No creep with a little moly grease and very smooth approx. 3 lb. pull. Quality triggers can cost one, two, three, four (even way way more). Hundreds of dollars. ...sure they help hit the target. My only ploblem is the PRICE. Since I am a do it yourself type person, .....I bought alot of these lower power spring Kit's from ar15 discounts.com. and installed them with enhanced polished triggers from various vendors. The trigger pull and accuracy inproved read more alot. .....sure you can order a nice smooth trigger but it will cost you hundreds of dollars. .....But if you are a builder (do it yourself)type person you can achieve almost , if not the same results. People are different, some want the best no what it cost. I want the best value. That's why I love ar15 discounts.com.

These springs do as they are advertised. They give a lighter trigger pull while remaining safe and still give very reliable ignition to all ammo / primers. As spring kits go, I would say these are "duty rifle" reliable. TIP....Now add these springs to the new Gen 2 Anderson stainless steel trigger and hammer and you will be totally amazed! Excellent product

Jammye M.

I was skeptical about these springs at first but after testing them, my opinion has completely changed. They lightened the trigger considerably and with a little surface work on the trigger and hammer, these combine to make an exceptional trigger out of a factory setup. Very happy.

Improvement, but not a HUGE difference.

Michael P.

Just by a visual comparison, there is a noticeable physical difference between these and standard milspec springs. I already polished my milspcec trigger, so it was already smooth, but I wanted a lighter pull. This kit was priced right and easy to install. I can feel a difference in trigger pull, although I was hoping for them to be even lighter than they are (hence the 4 star review). read more I don't have a trigger scale, so I don't know the exact weight, but I'd say it's around 5.5 lbs now, down from about 7 lbs. I wouldn't say these springs compare to a $200 drop in trigger, but they are worth the money. I put them in my rifle, and have shot about 240 rounds through it since installing and have not had any malfunctions.

BEST TRIGGER ENHANCEMENT FOR CHEAP.

Chris W.

I bought two of these kits. The first kit went into my friends Ruger 5.56 AR, and the trigger pull was amazing. We measure his factory pull weight came in at a whopping 7lb. 8oz. After we put the kit in, the trigger pull reduced to a very consistent 4lb. 6oz. The second kit went into my PSA Glock 9mm lower. The factory pull weight came in at 6lb. 6oz. After the kit was installed read more it was another consistent pull and came in at 4lb. 2oz. I also highly recommend grabbing some 550 paracord, or something similar, and looping it through the hammer. Give it some upward pull and working the trigger 40 to 50 times. This wears in the bearing surfaces for a more crisp trigger pull. If you have any questions look at this video. https://youtu.be/Yeasg5HNbnw
