The installation was fairly easy, but you really need a second set of hands to dress the sight wheel while installing the roll pin.

The kit is Luth-AR so be sure to check reviews for that specific kit elsewhere. Like other buyers, my kit did not include the correct parts. The roll pin for the windage drum is supposed to be 1/16" diameter but the one I received is 5/64" and is way too big for the corresponding hole in the drum.

Installed on a M16A1E1 receiver and it functions perfect. When switching to the long range sight the point of impact moves up 3 MOA with no change in windage. I zeroed at 100 yards, impact is about 2 inches low at 200 yards and with the long range sight zero at 300 yards. I don't like the military zero because no mater what you do in order to shoot past 300 yards you have to add… read more elevation to the front sight. The only pain is installing it. The spring is very heavy. I had to us a clamp it to get the sight to stay in place so I could get the screw it. Not for the amateur! If you don't know what you are doing and have the correct tools buy the assembled receiver.

I purchased this A1 rear sight assembly for my all Colt parts 20" M16A1 less the lower reciever. I have scoured the country for 40 years to build the best Colt M16A1 to join my 70's OEM Colt AR15/M16A1 SP1. I finally located the last part, a Colt slick side upper receiver.
