The Luth-AR MBA-1 (Modular Buttstock Assembly) is a great choice for a precision build intended for shooters running a standard A2 style buffer tube (designed for a fixed stock). It features an adjustable cheek rest which can be raised up to 1″ for a more comfortable cheek weld when using raised optics. You can also extend the length of pull to up to 1 1/16″ using the adjustable buttplate. At only 1.26 lbs, this stock is also much lighter than other similar stocks on the market. It’s a solid stock in regards to your regular mil spec stock that can rattle as a Swiss cowbell. Overall design allows a novice to adapt with ease to this stock features i.e. cheek riser and butt pad. I think a few things that the manufacturer can still improve might be minor to someone. Cheek riser and adjustable butt pad areas can either be reinforced with metal n polymer or… read more carbon fiber material. Trade offs? Dunno, weight n cost in general. Cheek riser can be revamped by added cheek riser pads that are interchangeable (for the folks in colder climates). Thus it worked bueno for someone who lives behind enemy lines.

Great stock, although not as easily adjustable as a Magpul PRS, but once adjusted I feel like it might even edge out the PRS Stock, as the cheek rest feels more stable to me.

The Luth AR-MB-1 Has always been my go to stock for all my long range builds. I absolutely love the feel and the stability it gives me while shooting. As far as rifle length stocks go I feel they are the best hands-down

This is a great upgrade for those who want to up their stock to something more comfortable and adaptable to your personal shooting preference. Unfortunately this Luth-AR mba-1 stock is lacking quality in regards to the riser plate for the cheek. For me this is more than an inconvenience, it’s downright frustrating even impossible to try and adjust this riser with one hand while holding a 10+ pound weapon in the other. I need to place the weapon on a bench and use two hands to adjust the riser. Any fine adjustment is… read more impossible so its either fully up or down. Talked to Luth-AR, they are aware and said it’s a result of tolerances of riser plate to stock.

I am an armorer and I have put a lot of stocks on a lot of rifles. This the stock I have on MY varminter AR. My main two reasons for picking this one over the big M brand: lighter weight and price.
