Fairly solid

The next best thing to an ambi lower in terms of function. Just know that it will always have a little big of wiggle forward and backward on the bolt release (and in the trigger guard). It shouldn't ever be a problem if you maintain trigger discipline.

WARNING: Doesn't fix all bolt catch shapes

I purchased this for an Aero Precision lower with a Strike Industries enhanced bolt catch. It would not fit on the enhanced bolt catch because of the shape of the catch lever. Nowhere in any of the sites I checked, including Magpul, does it state that it won't fit all bolt catch shapes. It can be modified by filing down the rounded contour of the rear half of the B.A.D.lever with… read more a jewelers file. Once modified it performed as advertised. Not really unhappy with the product just disappointed that I had to modify it to get it to function.

A great upgrade to any rifle

This is my second one. The BAD Lever makes your bolt releases ligthing fast. After a short bit of muscle memory training period, use becomes intuitive. I do like how it is designed to hug tighter in the trigger guard more than others. This helps avoid accidental contact. My only complaiont is the screw and tool to secure it to your existing bolt catch. The small screw is a No. 8… read more torx and the tool is very small for the job. I recommed have a #8 torx bit on hand to make life a little easier.

Good extension to existing button

Using my right hand to hold down the lever along side my left hand to pull the charging handle whenever i want to lock the bolt makes my shooting experience that much easier and comfortable.

Great add on for easier bolt control

I have never seen one in person before I bought this one, I have 4 different AR set ups, 5.56/223-300BO rifle and 300BO 10inch pistol, I put this on my target rifle, hit range and shot about 300+ rounds so 6-8 mag changes , this made locking bolt open so much easier and mag changes much quicker, as you drop empty mag slap full one in and just use trigger finger to bump the lever… read more to drop the bolt, no having to reach over to left side to hit bolt release, not sure about using hunting in woods and having snag issues, when going thru thick brush

Must have attachment!

The B.A.D lever works better then I thought it would. I did my research obviously as to what this attachment would bring to the table for my rifle. Great Device

I was a little leery to start with, but once I bought one of these and installed it I learned how much I like it and it makes things so much easier. I have since bought two more for other ARs that I have. Well worth the money and super easy to install.

Make sure it fits

It's very well made and it works, but it doesn't fit my Juggernaut Tactical billett receiver. As said in another review, the shadow of the upper causes the bolt catch to prematurely engage. I'm going to keep it for my next build using a different receiver.

Pretty good once it's on

Once I got the lever installed, it was great. It was a bit difficult getting the thread on the bolt started. Other than that it works great and I can already tell why these are popular.

Very practical little device

I thought the lever might interfere with my trigger finger occasionally but upon trying it out on the range I felt quite comfortable activating the lever without any trouble. I would still have to try it under the stress of competition for a final verdict but so far, so good.

So nice I had to buy twice...three times... 4 times..

I absolutely love the ease of use with this B.A.D. Boy! I have bought several of these to use on all my rifles. haven’t had any issues with them. I use a little blue locktite on them in case the may want to try and get loose but haven’t. There are other options out there like the Phase5 extended but this one functions just the same and 1/2 the price. Extremely happy with them.

The construction looks like it is high quality, as for functionality, I have no Idea as it did not come packaged with a screw and I have had no luck finding a screw that small.

The prefect doohickie for yur thingamajig!

I don't think I'll ever have a AR pattern rifle without this little wonder of an invention. Pair this with an extended mag release. I prefer Odin Works mag releases but this review is about the BAD Lever. Gives full control of the rifles main functions to your right hand. Allows for less movement around the rifle during mag changes. Don't spoil yourself with this little add on though.… read more Practice reloads with the ping pong paddle first and add this when proficient with the original functions of the rifle. People will scoff at the BAD lever because they've heard bad things and there's more expensive and "durable" styles of battery assist devices on the market. However if the more expensive ones break you have to replace the whole unit. If the BAD lever breaks, your ping pong paddle is still underneath and fully functional. To me that's a benefit.

The lever is good but not for my upper

Overall very good product, good quality and easy install. With the upper off, it works perfectly fine. With the aero M4E1 upper however, the lever gets pushed out some causing the bolt catch to be partially engaged when it shouldn’t be, due to the uppers angular shape.

Great addition to any AR

A worth upgrade that enhanced the usability of my AR. Now I can release my bolt without having to let go of my support hand. I can also lock the bolt back without a magazine with relative ease as well.

Great!

Since I am lefty, I needed something to help quicken up my time dropping the bolt and instead of buying an Ambi lower I decided to give the Magpul B.A.D lever a try. It is worth it. Now I’m not the best/fastest shooter, but I would definitely give this a try if you’re trying to decrease your reload time or if you’re a lefty and need a right side bolt release.

The BAD lever makes releasing the bolt and holding the bolt open while pulling back on the charging handle significantly easier. Certain bolt catches won't work with the bad lever though, something to keep in mind. Also, if you have a very light trigger, be careful when releasing the bolt with the BAD lever as my finger has come close to slipping off and touching the trigger.
