The clarity is good, reticle illumination is super cool and visible against almost any background, and adjustability of magnification is smooth and straightforward. I would put this little scope on almost anything that is "side charging", bolt action or even pump. The problem is with the two inch eye relief. In order to take full advantage of the width of view the scope offers… read more it has to be set so far back on the receiver and the M4 style collapsible stock has to be so short it makes the length of pull on an AR just too uncomfortable for me to shoot. I wanted to love this, but just can't.
