What if you need a barrel that’s not quite as light as a pencil barrel, but has many of the accuracy benefits of a bull barrel with less weight The Medium Profile barrel is your answer. The ODIN Works 12.5″ 416R Stainless Steel Medium profile barrel comes chambered in the genius .223 Wylde, so you can feed it a steady diet of both .223 and 5.56 NATO rounds without worrying about pressure differentials. This barrel includes an adjustable gas block. It comes standard with a medium profile cut to the barrel, M4 feed ramps, 1/2″x28 thread pattern that will fit most AR-15 muzzle devices, and a 1:8″ twist rate with button-cut rifling (1:8 twist means the bullet makes one full rotation every 8″ inches while inside the barrel). This hand-lapped barrel weighs about 1.68 pounds. NOTE: 416R is a Crucible brand steel and it was formulated specifically for barrels. Most types of steel, including normal 416SS are not designed to be used in freezing temperatures. But this steel was designed to operate in arctic temperatures, up to -40F. 416R also has greater accuracy potential than normal 416SS and 4150 steel due to its ability to take highly defined rifling and machining cuts.
