This is definitely a must have tool if you have an AR15! It makes cleaning, assembling and building a lot easier. This is my first block vise, so I cannot compare it to other brands. This product is high quality and I love that it has the twist on the bottom to make it a more snug fit.

I had high expectations for the Real Avid Mag Vise Block, and it exceeded them all. The adjustment feature enables the vise block to fir nicely in whatever lower receiver you might have, providing the user a snug, tight fit. I highly recommend.

Purchased the Smart Fit VB with high hopes that the locking mechanism they tout would securely hold my lowers in a vice. When I tried to use it the very first time, I found that it did not create a tight and secure fit as advertised. I attempted to tighten the block up by twisting the dial handle at the bottom and on the very first use, the steel rod that connects the handle to… read more the top block, snapped. Now I basically have a standard vice block with no way to tighten it for a more secure fit. The block still works l guess, it’s just that the lower receiver is now loose when fitted over the block. I was hoping for a product that would provide a solid platform to work on and this product definitely fell short of my expectations.
