The bolt itself is machined from Carpenter 158 tool steel, is high pressure tested, magnetic particle inspected, and shot peened. Additionally, each bolt features a Sprinco 5-coil heavy duty extractor spring with black insert to ensure long term reliability. The gas key is heat treated per GI specifications and is secured with properly staked grade 8 screws.
