About Sprinco AR-15/10 Buffer Spring
Standard AR15/M4 buffer springs (aka “action springs”) are wear items which must be replaced regularly in order for AR-15s to operate reliably, with conservative replacement taking place every 5000 rounds. Sprinco action springs in comparison, are over engineered and will last over 50,000 cycles. Sprinco Chrome Silicon buffer springs are heat treated, stress relieved, and dual-stage shot peened in separate post winding treatments. Sprinco also treats each spring with a proprietary, deep-penetrating, re-micronized (to .3 Micron particle size), inhibited, Molybdenum-Disulfide (MoS2) formulation to eliminate 90% of all mechanical wear on the spring: this is why Sprinco springs do not produce the spring sound during shooting which is common with standard action springs. Select from the following options: RED: Extra Power Spring The option with the most spring tension, this spring is suited for rifles and carbines with excessive bolt speeds. This spring is suitable for 14.5″/16″ uppers with carbine length gas systems (which are typically over gassed), all suppressed rifles, piston operated rifles, and 9mm conversions BLUE: Medium “Enhanced” Power Spring A slight increase in spring power makes this spring suited for rack grade weaponry with normal operation parameters. 16″ rifles with midlength gas systems, short barreled rifles with carbine length gas systems, etc. WHITE Standard “Regular” Power Spring Equivalent spring power of a “fresh” AR15/M4 carbine action spring, this spring is for users who do not want to dabble with improving performance with extra power springs, but do not want to frequently replace their action springs as well YELLOW Reduced Power Spring Useful for undergassed rifles, such as some midlength gas rifles or “Dissipator” builds which is apparent with rifles that short stroke or have weak ejection patterns Red/White Intermediate Power Spring Optimal for use with AR-15’s with a carbine buffer tube and a carbine to midlength gas system. These are made to a higher standard than most M.O.E. and in some cases, superior materials. They usually provide a longer service life (documented cycles) and a somewhat diminished noise output, (twang).

I needed these to help utilized the bleed off feature of the superlative gas blocks. With the red spring and a h3 buffer I was able to dial my bleed off feature in and have perfect 4 0’clock ejection with my suppressed rife.

The product arrived quickly and fit as it should. I paired it with a heavy FM buffer to replace the stock MIL-STD buffer and spring that had been severely beaten. Felt recoil is much improved over stock parts and I anticipate it will last a very long time.

I have already ordered 2 of these. I got a red one for my 10-1/2” it really helped slow down my bolt carrier from being over gassed. It also helped with recoil! Staying on target now is much easier! Went with the standard white to replace a milspec spring. Really not up for tinkering and tuning so standard power is the way to go for me (especially when proper vetting of parts is getting more and more expensive). I've had a few other Sprinco springs over the years and they all perform flawlessly. My go to for sure. Highly recommended.

Works well with a shortened buffer for an ar10. A normal AR15 carbine buffer spring would not allow me to lock the bolt carrier back. This spring does, I have yet to fire it, SINCE I'M NOT USING ANY AMMO RIGHT NOW!!!

Springco springs are great products. I had an issue running lower powered steel case ammunition (red army standard 5.56) in my 10.3" AR pistol setup. Gas port on the barrel was tuned to prevent over-gassing issues. Standard brass ammo worked perfect, but the cheap steel case just didn't have the pressure, and caused the system to short stroke. Utlizing this lower power spring, and… read more lightening up the buffer fixed the issue straight away. Now I can run any ammo, and have a consistant ejection pattern right at 3:30-4:00. Allan Dugger loves springs like crazy. The Sprinco buffer springs have a duty cycle life of 1,500,000 compression & de-compressions. There extractor & ejector springs are expected to last 150,000 cycles and some examples are over 200,000; so put them in your AR now. P.S. they also make gas rings so install them to.

Was experiencing undergassing with a 16'' carbine gas system. Feeding was light and ejection pattern was off. Tried lightening the buffer without any luck. The yellow spring was noticeably lighter and fixed the issue.
