The part works exactly like it should ! Having said that I will not be using it I use an oversized bolt catch and I feel like the slight chance of dropping mag instead of closing bolt is not worth it something to think about !

So it worked well but unless I’m dedicating a left handed lower it’s to close to the oversized bolt catch .not worth risk of dropping magazine if you have someone else using your weapon

Will not fit a SilencerCo SCO-15 lower

This particular magazine catch will not drop into a SilencerCo SCO-15 lower without a fairly large amount of filing to thin out the paddle. This is more of a problem with the geometry of the lower and its milled accents than it is the mag catch itself. I just wanted to submit this review for anyone that has that lower and intends to purchase an ambidextrous mag catch for it. I will add that the actuation pressure required is fairly light and I could foresee a situation where you accidentally release a mag if something were to hit the paddle unexpectedly.

Doesn't function

This product works great in theory. But I wouldn't put my life on the line using it. Like others have stressed, the spring for the lefty side mag release is to weak and you're mag will come free after a few rounds. This ambi mag release looks and feels great, but it doesn't work. Having to adjust to shooting rifle left handed has been a bit of a culture shock as I am right handed in everything else but the Ambidextrous Magazine Release by Strike industries has helped with the transition. Where were you years ago?

Being left handed can be challenging at times. Mag reloads are one of those times. I could never get a fast reload in stock form, this should stream line that process. Now all I have to do is get that muscle memory remembering a new dance, and me being left footed to boot!

Good but not perfect

The mag release works well and supports all the different mags that I have. Only issue is the Lefty mag release is pretty soft to the touch and easy to press. Or I could see a mistaken release of a MAG falling out due to the left side of the mag release getting bumped too hard. Me being a lefty and holding the rifle on the right side against my body I don't see this problem happening… read more very often but if somebody was a righty and for some reason had it on the left side pressing against their body I could see their gear knocking the mag release and releasing the mag.

Perfect for lefty!

Works well on p80 lower! Gf built hers and I got her this so she can do more natural reloads, I didn't understand just how it was supposed to work when ordering but once it showed up it was obvious. Easy to use and has been working just fine.

I have this part in 2 rifles. I have maybe 500 rounds shot but they work flawless. The left handed release is smooth and nice while the right handed works as they normally do.

Almost perfect

Really good product. I do love it’s functionality more than I expected having never ran an ambidextrous mag release before. Only reason for four stars is the button itself does not fit snug in the Anderson Arms lower. Has a tiny amount of swivel to it so it doesn’t always look perfectly vertical in the lower. Definitely not a functionality issue, just a hint lower than perfection.

Doesn't work

The mag release attached easy enough, but the magazines shake free extremely easily, making this release completely useless. I know I installed it correctly because the standard release I had on before worked flawlessly.

Nice!

This works way better than some of the other ones some of the cheaper brands do not function correctly but this one works in my Ar-10s and 15s . Overall I love it it's aesthetically pleasing and works well.

Works great for AR15 not so on AR10

We have installed several on AR15's that work great. The problem with AR10 is the actual length of the "button is approx. 1/4" too short.. Odin does make the correct length button for a AR10 which cost approx $12.00 plus shipping. Once this product is installed on an AR10 with the extended button it too works great.

Amazing product. HOWEVER two caveats: Doesn't always play nice if you have a Magpul BAD Lever - make sure that the ambi release and the lever arm are clear of each other - my BAD lever had some play so occasionally it would touch on the release and I'd drop a mag. OCCASIONALLY depending on your build, you will have to orient the mag release button so the logo faces downrange.… read more I find that the additional half spin is enough to really secure the mag. Particularly so with M2 mags. Besides those two things, would never build another rifle without this included.

Works great either left or right handed. When using the left side release, the magazine catch doesn't come as far out of the well as when using the right side (standard) release, but it works perfectly well with all my magazines (Magpul gen 2).

Very smooth mag release for lefty

This is a very smooth mag release for a left handed rifle shooter. Sits in the perfect place for my trigger finger and has a hinged release that is easier to manipulate than the usual button on the right side for a right hander.
