I now have these pivot/takedown pins in multiple ARs to replace the factory ones. These have very positive stops and are smooth during release or application. I highly recommend.

Here’s the bottom line. I order a lot of stuff from many different places and hands down AR 15 DISCOUNT has been the best by far. Price wise and especially shipping wise. I have tried this with two different uppers that I have and they do not fit properly do to the coating. I also have extended and mil spec pins that fit with no problems. But the pins are very light and I just wish they would fit properly. I'll just save this for another build

The Strike Industries Ultra Light takedown pins are a great addition. They fit like normal pins with the extra length on the left side to make it easier to push through. I bought a blue and a black set.

These takedown pins are a little easier to remove due to the ended ends. The FDE ones are a bit more of a gold than say magpul FDE. They do match the dust cover and Geissele DDC rail pretty nicely though.

The finish and style of the SI light weight takedown pins is great. I really like most of Strike Industries stuff but I'm not going to be satisfied with these. The problem for me is that the pins are aluminum and the detent pins in the receiver dig into the soft aluminum and make them hard to remove. I guess I could shorten my detent springs and remove some of the tension but I… read more think I'm just gonna remove these and purchase the steel SI takedown pins. Save weight somewhere else and go with the steel pins.

Good fit and finish. These pins are represented well by the photos, you get what you see. They are very light and add a nice detail over standard mil-spec pins. Will use on future builds. Now S.I. just needs to offer about 10 more colors.
