One of the other reviewers said these ambi safety selectors wiggle side to side. They only do this before you put the detention spring and safety pin back in. (These are the parts in the handle grip that push into the safety to hold it into place.) After you reinstall these parts, the safety sector fits perfectly. There is no wiggle. The original mil spec safety selector was way easier to move from fire to safe and back again. This Strike Industries safety selector was much more difficult to move from fire to safe. It actually made me hate manipulating my favorite rifle. I had to return these. They work. They’re machined well. The 90 degree and 60 degree options both work. There’s ambi and one sided lever options. The levers themselves are small but work great. I want to love this product. I really do. But those detent grooves are just too deep or cut wrong or something. It makes switching the safety on and off really rough.

Ouch, these feel cheap

Anyone who has given these a 5 star rating has never duty tested it. It’s an OK item but honestly it is too small and hurts your thumb after not much use. I am going to cut the safety selector spring, as it’s either that or send the unit back. There is annoying play due to how loosely the switches are attached to the safety bar. Final piece for my blue lower

First time using an ambi seletor switch. Have used other Strike products and they are always high quality. Great addition to my 300BLK lower. Cant wait to order on in FDE. Easy to install

Overall great!

I ordered this safety for my build and it had too much play to be comfortable with but I reached out and was sent a new one! Great customer service! I gave it 4 stars because of the low profile design. I can manipulate it without issue but it is smaller than I'm used to. Overall it's a great safety and looks great but if you have larger hands, this may not be the safety for you.

Too much play

Installed it tonight and there's WAY too much play. The safety is not flush with the receiver and can be pushed back and forth from both sides. It also has too much play and wiggles when on safe or fire. Hoping this is just a faulty part.

found this super easy to install and very compact. I pick this because this go very well with my Kingpin setup while Mil spec safety would be kind of in the way. Pro: Ambi option 2 degree setting very easy install Light weight (which can be pro and con, doesn't feel as premium) Con: color option is not highly scratch resistant

Pretty Good but some flaws

Overall it's pretty good. I have it on a Larue lower and currently its set up as an ambi safety selector. Going to delete the right safety selector because it hits your shooting hand (if your right handed) and thus makes putting the rifle on safe harder--not a flaw of the safety on SI part, but rather just a feature that I don't need. The seriations on the safety selector have… read more just the right depth that you get a very positive non-slip safety selector. One issue I did have after installing the safety selector was that it was sticking and not very smooth. I put some more oil on it and worked it about 40 times and now its very smooth and has a very good audible click. When switching between safety and fire, it almost snaps into either position which is nice. I guess the ultimate opinion is whether I would purchase it again. Yes, its worth the $30 dollars.

NICE AMBI SAFETY FOR THE PRICE - TYPICAL STRIKE QUALITY

Nice ambi safety for the price. The shape of the levers is a bit awkward but they look pretty slick. It was really stiff at first but a little WD-40 and a new detent with a nice point on it made a huge difference. No detent or wrench is included in the package. Whatever you do don't tighten down the lever screws too much or you won't get them back off. I hate using thread locker… read more since I swap parts around all the time so I tightened these down pretty good. I tried to take them back off and broke a brand new Fix-it-Sticks torx bit off inside the screw, just something to keep in mind. Battle Arms Development makes the best in my opinion, but overall it's a perfectly fine ambi safety selector

Easy-to-Install Selector Switch

I bought this as gift for my friend’s build. It installed easily and works flawlessly. The flip switch has aggressive grooves to ensure a solid purchase. My friend has yet to fire his rifle with this installed, but there is no reason to believe it will not perform well. The fit and finish are top notch and match his other Strike Industries FDE products.

Nice part. Would have been better if they finished it.

Solid little part. Anodizing is perfect. However, the finish work was not, and the thing is razor sharp. Do a few simple drills, and this thing will be slicing through your gloves. Of they buff it out or slightly change the profile: no concerns. Very smooth and we'll made.. just sharp.

Clearance on the forward assist side of the weapon was too close. The safety would not operate tightened. However I clearanced it with a small washer. After that, everything operated great and smoothly

I love the color and they are easy to install but way to small and sharp! You’ll tear your thumb up during a training session on the engage and to re-engage back on is really rough because of the sharp edges! I really like SI products but these I’d suggest you pass on unless you have abnormally big thumbs!

The detents in the cross shaft are too deep. Very hard to manipulate the safety. Tried both positions but to no avail. Looks cool but does not function as well as a mil stock part. I’ll probably replace it with something better.

Looked at a you tube video and it took longer to remove and reinstall the grip and screw. Pops right in and the function check was perfect. I have it set for the 60 degree throw just to try. It would be easy to set it up for the 90 degree throw with just a flip of the switch direction since the levers are the same and it could be set up for non-ambi use if you so desire. Notable improvement.

The levers can be installed for either side only or both, and the central shaft can be installed to select either 60 or 90 degree throw. They are slightly lower profile than a standard GI safety but still have a good contact area. I would buy these again for future builds.

Stiff when returning to safe

This is a nice looking selector and it's nice to have ambidextrous control however... it doesn't work as nicely as I had hoped for. There is very obvious stiffness in the lever, more specifically when returning from fire to safe. I haven't had any problems going from safe to fire but when trying to return to safe it is OVERLY stiff. I tried a softer detent spring but same issue.… read more It also doesn't "CLICK" into place as nicely as it should. My mil-spec standard safety never had such a lackluster feel. Will be trying a different safety selector and selling mine off to someone more concerned with looks than function.

I found this safety to be smoother than most. The shape of the levers makes it snag free, yet easy to manipulate. I have seen some reviews complaining about stiffness of the switch.
