Too stiff!

GREAT SWITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!

1 star deducted, after putting together the lower. Switches were extremly tight on both slides. I took apart the swicthes, did some buffing, slap them together again. Better than before, but spend a night in front of the TV, with lower only and worked them in. on/off, on/off for a couple hours. The end results are best and top notch with low prices. I wanted thick, wide switches… read more to work on both sides. And these bad boys did just that. If you are willing to put in 1 night to work them in, then these are it!!!!!!!!! If you want straight out of the box smooth swicthes, pony up an extra $50, but while on sale it is a steal

I'm upgrading my mil spec safety for this, ambi 45°. This is my first order by the way, very impressive with their shipping, it surprised me how quick they shipped and how fast arrived. Installation was easy, i used all the parts included, (safety, safety detent amd detent spring) but after testing, the feeling was really tight, so I thought it needed use to break, so i play with… read more it switching the safety for few times but noted it start to get harder and harder until it won't move anymore. The way I fixed was keeping the safety itself and going back to the old milspec safety pin detent and spring, looks like the one they provide is steel and was shaving or cutting with each switch, the old one I used and already have is a yellowish color, probably brass, the one on this product is coated black. I noted the spring is a little hard too, the old one was more flexible so I dropped that one too. After doing that it is running very smooth, now just need to test the long run. I will add a picture for the pin that comes with it doesn't work for long for reference, ir is visible how the tip is shaved after about 30 switches from safe to fire.

Great Feel

I was a little hesitant as I am use to a rounded thumb safety. Turned out to be a great feel, don't really feel any groves and drops like a charm.

Very prone to getting super stuck.

For some reason ( well, not “some” reason)....... let me start over..... Because of substandard machining if I disengage safety with me index finger (right side) it is nearly impossible to disengage with my thumb. I can work left side up / down effortlessly inly left ir only right, but combine the two...... junk

UTG 45/90 safety red

Safety at first is stiff, I trimmed a very small amount off the spring less than 1/8" this eased the operation. It is still a very positive movement. Anodizing is very rich red should hold up well. Very reasonably priced, most 45/90 safeties are way overpriced. I would definitely buy again!

Rock solid

Solid snap when moved from safe to fire. Easy install and custom feeling fit. I prefer the 45-degree configuration. Will be changing out all my ARs with these.

Not what I expected

The color on the product looks fantastic on the rifle. The issue I had and the reason I only gave the product two stars is because I had to modify the product so it could properly function. I believe the slots the detent slides into to place your rifle on safe or on fire was drilled to deep. When I first place in the safe selector it would not switch from safe to fire . I continued… read more to trouble shoot but nothing would work. I brought out my dremel to smooth out the slots. Once I did this the product started functioning as it was design to. Like I said, the color of the product was exactly what I was looking for but unless you are ready to fix the product so it can function like it's supposed to I would look else where. ?‍♂️ Sorry.

One small issue

This safety selector looks cool and works well, but the levers don’t align properly with the detent. It’s not quite a 90 degree throw, and when the selector is pointed towards fire it’s a few degrees out of plumb, even though the switch is totally level with the safety engaged. This does not affect functionality but those of us with an eye for detail might be a little… read more annoyed. I installed mine in an 80% lower for a .308 build, but I don’t think the hole I drilled is off. Just a small cosmetic problem that will only bother the most pedantic of builders. It doesn’t really bother me.

Ambidextrous safety

The UTG has become my go to safety. I appreciate the larger screw that UTG uses to secure the levers to the safety body. Others are very small and easily stripped. I like the smaller lever for the off side of the receiver.Also like the short 45 degree throw.

Helps make the best of a silly situation.

I always have a great shopping experience here, I bought the UTG ambi safety for my California "Compliant" AR-9. I know sounds silly. I had to put on a Resurgent Arms grip to be to run my Foxtrot Mike rifle without a locked mag. I will eventually run it in PCC in USPSA where mag changes are necessary. This safety is perfect. I will be buying more even for my mag-locked builds.

I love the design of these safety selectors. Your finger naturally grabs on. Going from a 90° safety to a 45° is super easy. The build quality feel really great, just as good as my other expensive safeties for two or three times the price.

Great Safety Upgrade

This safety is a beautiful addition to any AR 15 build or to swap out on an existing rifle . It changes out easily as long as you take out the hammer from the trigger group . This safety can be preset to a 45 degree throw or the usual 90 degree safe to fire mode. Id recommend this safety to anyone with a theme rifle .
