War Dog Skeletonized Uppers and Lowers are precision pieces

I have built 2 awesome builds with these War Dog reveiver sets. Of the 10 or so builds I have done, I do believe this receiver set is the most precise of any uppers/lowers I have used. The other comment about not being MillSpec because an Odin works handrail does not fit is questionable. Most likely the Odin Works is not MillSpec. I have 4 Odin Works uppers handrails and I have… read more had to modify every one of them unless matching it to an Odin Works upper receiver. All of my parts fit perfectly from the safety selectors, to the take down pins to the mag release etc. I love these, they are light and strong and precise. I have another set waiting for me to come up with another idea, looking forward to it

Awesome looking

I have not built this yet, but the quality of how it is made is very good. I haven’t decided yet on a trigger, that’s why I haven’t built it yet. Once I Cerakote it, this will be awesome.

Almost perfect

Everything is great and works great. But not every part on the market will fit because it is not mill spec. Odin works o2 lite rails will not fit the upper, and KNS skeletonized anti walk/roll pin setup will not work with this lower. Everything else is A+ The guy with the bad review doesn't know how to screw in a magazine button.

First of all, this should be broken up into 2 reviews. One for the product and one for the customer service. The 3 stars are for the receiver, I would give 10 stars for the customer service. I found 3 issues with the receiver. The safety selector bumpers were cut about a 1/4" too high leaving a obvious gap between the selector and the bumpers. The magazine catch pocket was also… read more cut too long leaving about a 1/8" gap at one end. Last, they did not finish a majority of the edges on this receiver, to the point that you have to be careful handling this receiver because the 90% of the edges are very sharp. I contacted AR15discounts about these issues and could not be more satisfied with the way they handled it and took care of me.

Maybe maybe not

First of all it looks really cool, I was super excited to get started with the build. After taking it out of the box and feeling it, it has some sharp edges but not to the point of cutting but just feels rough. Then the building got underway, that’s when I found out that it was over machined in the magazine release, when I installed it, it sat in to far and wouldn’t let the… read more magazine insert and lock in. What was happening was the top of the magazine was hitting the bottom of the release, so I fixed that with a piece of felt. The hole for the buffer retainer wasn’t big enough so I had to use fine grit sand paper and sand the retainer a little bit. I don’t know if this common on all of these lowers or just the one I sent. So if you are considering one of these just keep the stuff I described in mind, I also bought the matching upper and it’s great ! I’ll recommend this but with caution!
